👋🏼 Hey there, I’m Wilson

About me 👨🏻‍💻

I’m a new grad software engineer based in San Francisco, California. I left my hometown, Taipei, Taiwan, in 2022 to pursue my master’s degree in the states. So far, I like the vibe and life style in California, and trying to explore more nice coffee shops around bay area.

Currently 🤖

test

I work as a computer vision engineer at Kargo, a logistics startup that transforms unstructured shipments into structured data platform, where I specialize in AI/ML and develop a broad range of applications within the our computer vision stacks.

Past experience ✅

I was previously a software engineer intern at Futurewei in summer 2023, where I built a 3D body tracking sysyem for ARVR platform. Prior to that, I interned as a perception software engineer at FARobot, where I developed a LiDAR-based detection system for autonomous mobile robots. I also gain research experience in the area of Computer Vision & Natural Language Processing & Multi-modal Learning during my full-time / internship at CKIP Lab, Academia Sinica.

Education 🎓

I completed my M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a focus on Robotics at UC San Diego in 2024, and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at National Taiwan University in 2022.

Something else 👀

I didn’t start coding until late junior year, where I worked on the lane tracking system of a autonomous propeller‐powered vehicle. During the time, I start to explore the world of programming and top trend tech.

I’m interested in wide range of stuffs, and would like to learn/explore more. As shown above, I learned about AI/ML, Robotics, and AR/VR. Currently, while I work on machine learning tasks during weekdays, I’m also learning lower-level concepts, such as how software works under the hood, including topics like operating systems and multi-threading.

I’ve also documented some thoughts (in Mandarin though) in Medium including how I applied to grad schools in the states, how I got my current job, and what I learnt as a new grad engineer so far.
